What is needed to have a document notarized?
A signer must be present in person with ID that is current and matches the name on the document. All pages to the document must be present at the time of notarization (Example: A document says "Page 1 of 5", "Page 2 of 5", etc., all 5 pages must be present). Documents must be filled out completely prior to having it notarized, except for signature areas which can be signed at time of notarization.
What type of identification is acceptable?
A current Driver License or ID card issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles is most commonly used. Other acceptable forms include: a US Passport, a foreign passport (must be current and have a physical description such as Height and/or Weight), or out of state Driver License or ID card.
Do I need to make an appointment?
No appointment is necessary.
